Home sweet home

Here it is ... our humble abode.

I still can't believe that Lenneke and I are living here. It was one of the first builds at Borgen (our base) and just last year it had an extension put on so we have a BRAND NEW fabulous huge kitchen and new bathroom.

This the front of our house

This is the living room, the original building.
This is our brand sparkling new bathroom, we just have to fix a leak in the shower but other than that it is great.
Here is the kitchen, what can I say - just look at the picture! We have made good use of it with cooking and baking. We are so blessed that the previous tenants left behind all their crockery, cutlery and pots!!! Thank you Geoff and Milja.
And here is the view from our kitchen

So as you can see some of the rooms are a little bare and need a personal touch but we only came with our back packs so it may take a little while to fill up the place. We should be getting two other flatmates soon so that will help.

But clearly we are so totally blessed to be living in such a great house. I think that Borgen is definitely one of the, well I think THE best YWAM base ... EVER! The location is great, although to travel to it is quite out of the way but once you are here it is well worth it. The mountains all around, the fjord just down the road, a river at your door step, great walks and bike rides all over the place, the buildings are nice and the people are so lovely.

Ah it's the tough life for us poor missionaries in the far north.

I have added links to the Borgen website if you want to have a look around that. Also there is a link to the YWAM Norway DTS web page - have a look around it as there is a short video tour of Borgen on there. Enjoy.

I'm so jealous! I remember the smell of the forests in Scandinavia, and all the berries (and dirty sock soup!). Looking at all the pics makes me wanna come visit you! Pity I'm off on my own adventure in a few short weeks, otherwise i would seriously consider taking time off to visit.
Take care, missing you and your sleep talking.
Love from Laura :)

yup Mel that is an iPod. My whanu (family) gave it to me as a going away present and I have to say I have used it EVERY SINGLE DAY since I left home. It is great :D
