My Birthday

What a day it was!
It came in the middle of a very busy week, we didn't even have a spare moment to breathe so I knew i wouldnøt be able to have a party and I couldn't have one in the weekend either coz were going to be in Narvik (see previous post). In the morning the staff and students woke me up at 6:25 with pancake and presents. And then after dinner when we were going to start drama practice the students blind folded me and carried me home where to my suprise Lenneke and the others had organised a suprise party for me. I though they might have had a cake for me but a whole party, that was great! Even Mel made a special appearance. And I had lots of cards, presents, emails, phone calls and skype calls that made me feel very loved, just the way you should feel on your birthday.

So a big thank you to eveyone who made that day specail for me!

Breakfast in bed

My family baked me a cake and ate it too.

I had asked everyone on the DTS to dress up coz i thought it was all we could do to celebrate the day. As you can see I really should have thought more about my socks and that top was only put on for the trip outside.
Mel came and enjoyed the food too.
Alot of the base people showed up. It was good food, good company and a good night.
Look dad I am becomming a handy man
Just like the old days ay?
And did you notice how great I looking in that top! I am evangelising even as I cart wood.

When there are no men around to fix the cars, the girls step in - ok so it was only a headlight but still I think we did a good job.

Great to see you are still a handywoman :) It's important to keep all those skills Dad's been teaching you. Had to change any brake pads yet? We loved being part of your birthday celebrations, the cake was delish btw. Luv ya, Ma

SNOW, I want some, especially after some of the weather we've been having. I hope you have a wonderful year and that you had a fantastic birthday with lot's of surprises. I am a bit peeved that I didn't get some chocolate cake sent over from NZ or one of my favs...pancakes. The election has just this moment been won by Kevin Rudd...all too boring. Luv the jumper but don't know about all that tromping about stuff.Have fun. Love and angels' Helen
