Here is a quick photo catch up of whats been going on...
This is what we look like when we go for a walk. I used to think the vests were geeky but then i started to drive here and realised how necessary they are, especially because there aren't many footpaths out where I live.
We have a small storage problem at Borgen.
It's funny how the very thing that caused the problem is the thing that can help. This was my second fall of the winter and left quite a good bruise which is still here 2 weeks later.
Our base Christmas party
Class (and teacher) graduation photo of the Basic Leadership Skill school. If you look closely you may notice that the man on the far right looks a lot like the King of Norway!
I don't know what caused these 'rainbow clouds' but they were soooo beautiful, I just stopped and stared at them for ages. People here said it is very rare and most people hadn't ever seen it before.
This is a photo taken on my favourite walk around here, this is as light as it gets all day and then it only lasts for 2 hours then we are back into the dark.
CHRISTMAS
I am house and cat sitting over the Christmas break. It is a very nice house...

complete with a real bed not a foam mattress like I have!

I found a tree that had already been cut down (honestly it had) and i trimmed it up a bit and it turned out to be a great Christmas tree. The only problem was I don't have nay decorations to put on it ... but never fear my kiwi ingenuity came up with this solution...
Christmas was very quiet, just me and Katya a student from Russia. But we did find some extra people to put around the table (thanks mum). We had two Christmas dinners, one on the 24th when Katya celebrates it and one on the 25th for me.
It snowed on Christmas Eve and Christmas day which was very nice because all the other snow had melted.
Katya and I went for a walk at about 3:00pm Christmas day, look how dark it is!
Happy new year everyone!

Oh Bex, you didn't tell me you were seeing Shrek's orthodontist :)
You'll definitely find yourself a nice ogre for next Christmas now!
Were they a gift from Mez? Seems I've seen her with a similar smile, ring of confidence perhaps?
The rainbow clouds are beautiful. Gotta Praise God for those & for the opportunity you have of seeing them.

Yeah!!!! A new blog post. I really can't imagine a white dark Christmas now. But tomorrow I will at least be in the cold. I leave tonight and 33 hours later I will be in Geneva.
*Sigh* I really do not want to leave.
Hope you have a great workers gathering!
Love ya
PS your hair is getting long!

that rainbow sky looks amazing! remember the night we watched northern lights with lenneke & cherob til 2am & then went inside & ate soup together? i love that memory.
haha i laughed at your map picture... on our dts we saw a map that didn't have new zealand on it and all the guys gave our kiwi girl a hard time "new zealand doesn't exist" etc.
Hey Bec, love the teeth! Who would have thought to send you such a thoughtful gift??? :)
Hope you have a great time on outreach - not long til i go too!
Take care and watch out for headhunters - they will want yours for sure with those teeth!
Love ya

Bex I'm not sure that you've been eating enough chocolate! your face looks really skinny! We found out recently that the uk person eats and average of 10kg of chocolate a year. I am well above that! But that's ok right? eating fo two and all.... and maybe taking care of Ryan's portion also hehe.
The clouds are beautiful... just wondered are the northern lights one of the wonders of the world? I'll have to wikipedia it and see.
Love and hugs from the thumb sucking Abster and I
