And what great days they were!
I really had such a great time at the missions course and with the people at the base. I learnt so much that will be very useful in Mali and I met so many great people. I had only been there for six weeks but I found it really hard to leave and I even shed a tear or two on my last day.
Here are some photos from time at Skjærgårdsheimen:
We made the most of being right by the ocean and the great sun sets.
We played volley ball and went on a few boat trips, lots of fun!
These two are class assignments ... ok so maybe only the first one is, we were dressed as Africans as you can clearly see and we were teaching a song and dance - yes Bex was teaching singing and dancing! The second photo is me recovering from teaching singing and dancing, the rest of the class was really traumatised and needed more than a face mask and cucumber!
Annelise, one of my friends from Borgen, was doing another course at Skjærgårdsheimen , it was great to have someone there I already knew.
And this is our class photo.
So now the course is over and after catching a train in Norway, a plane to London, then four more trains traipsing through the London underground (with a suitcase, on a hot day at peak hour!!!!!), a few more flights and an embarrassing sleep talking incident (which could have included sleep walking if I didn't have my seat belt on, see you should always keep them fasten while seated) I am back home in Wellington.
It is great to be home but i am having problems with jet lag, it is now 5:30 in the morning and I haven't slept at all nor do i feel sleepy yet, but the good thing is I have now updated my blog!
Hopefully it won't take me so long till the next update.
