Since I have been home in Wellington it has been cold, wet and stormy almost the whole time, so just as well I had tickets to go and visit my dad in New Caledonia and soak up some sun. My good friend Sandy came with me for the nine day holiday which was great because other wise I would have been very bored when my dad was at work. Here are some photos from the trip

The beach just down the road from dad's apartment and just across the road from his work! It's a tough life but someones got to do it.
These two pics are from a big flash aquarium; which is well worth a look if you are in the neighborhood.
As you can see my dad and I went diving, great visibility and we saw a great range of sea life.
Sandy found HER supermarket. I had prepared myself that Noumea might be rather underdeveloped, dirty and limited shopping ... but I was quite wrong, it is a very nice city and quite well developed and you can buy almost anything you need.
It took us a bit to figure out what these little sliding trays on the seats were, but we discovered they are to sit your hand bag on. I'm not sure if they are more of a hazard then they are useful.
This is what Sandy and I spent most of our time doing - reading and laying on the beach. Note how tanned I am!!!
It really was a great holiday, exactly what I needed and I got to practice my French. Now that I am back home I am continuing to learn French and catch up with my friends. It is good to be home and not be rushed.

ok, and eric gave me my blessing book this week-end. WOW, bex. what more to say? you and hanna almost had me crying! you guys are too amazing! it's crazy how many memories i temporarily forget about...but you guys brought them up! so good to remember all of that! like...me being bad at talking with the lights out! hehe, i still don't know why i'm no good at that!!! oh, bex. i like you so much. thank you for being such a blessing to me.
